The first Leicester BYOB I'm aware of, Curated by Mark Towers, Tony Blend Visuals, and Sean Cuttlefish.
I exhibited a piece called free sprite trying to marry narrative to a digital element, and playng with ideas of back and foregrounds. This venue/ex-salon was based in the Leicester High Cross. it was wonderfully appropriate, with many interesting places to project.
The piece i exhibited was a quartz composer patch called, Projectile, which was based on the idea of being a projectile.Ended up looking like some sort of cool crazy time tunnel controlled by an Xbox Controller.

B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Beamer)What is BYOB?
BYOB is a series of one-night-exhibitions curated by different people around the world. The idea is simple: Find a place, invite many artists, ask them to bring their projectors. BYOB is a way of making a huge show with zero budget. It is also an exploration of the medium of projection. Who created BYOB? BYOB is an idea by Rafaël Rozendaal. The first edition of BYOB was initiated by Anne de Vries & Rafael Rozendaal in Berlin. http://www.byobworldwide.com/ |

Working with scale models made from cornflake boxes and scaled photo's really helped me to realise my work. I often work with scale models before any show now.

THE CLIPSTON PROJECT
The musical brain child of the talented Mr Eddie Burton. Working with the Clipston Project has allowed me to work on the ideas of a live music video, but also I've explored with materials onto which i can project and what that imparts to the overall image.I worked a lot with live video streams, mixing those layers with natural scenery or dramatic clips. also heavily working with brightness and contrast not only to create stark strong shapes but also to sympathise with the materials.I think using the almost found screens, such as wallpaper or bricks help to accept the projected image, making it more harmonious with it's surroundings. This was the first project i worked with a live band, instead of a club DJ, the lower tempo's and more melodic music encouraged me to develop my ideas of performing live with video.http://www.clipstonproject.co.uk/
